The Park’s banksia woodlands are ecologically significant, supporting a rich and diverse array of fauna. The woodlands are dominated by nectar-feeding bush birds and are key habitat for the three threatened black cockatoo species.
The little birds are become very active in the Park anytime there are trees in bloom (which is almost always!). You’ll spot wrens, robins and thornbills cavorting in and around the Children's Forest, in the gardens of Caversham Wildlife Park and in the banksia woodlands to the north of the Village (we recommend the Wunanga bush trail or walking the full lookout loop for these!).
Over 60 different ‘bush birds’ have been recorded in the Park.
