slender slider
Pletholax gracilis
This delicate beauty is a keeled legless lizard, also known as a slender slider (Pletholax gracilis).
It is a Priority 3 species in Western Australia as it is a species that we know little about - and in fact, is rarely seen! This individual was uncovered during recent fauna surveys in the Park.
WA Museum Boola Bardip states that this species “is active both above and below the soil surface” in their preferred sandplains habitat in banksia woodlands.
